Worship

Please join us on Sundays at 11:00 AM. Head over to our events calendar to view details about upcoming sermons. We keep our past sermons archived for existing members who are feeling nostalgic, or prospective members who are just trying to get a feel for the place.

Worship at the Amarillo Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is welcoming, relaxed, and meaningful. It provides a time of serenity and reflection, and on any given Sunday can evoke a combination of laughter, tears, and intellectual stimulation. Every Sunday at 11 AM we gather for excellent music, sharing joys and concerns, and to enjoy a message brought to us by one of our members or a special guest speaker. Message topics range widely from week to week, but often include discussions of current social events, reflections on sacred texts, or explorations of music, art, literature, and history.

A key element of our service is the lighting of our Chalice, which represents our commitment to share one another’s joys and concerns, and represents the guiding principles that provide meaning and purpose to our lives.

Every Sunday, we join in speaking the following affirmation:

Love is the Doctrine of this church; The quest for truth is its sacrament; And service is its prayer; To dwell together in peace; To seek knowledge in freedom; To serve humankind in fellowship; For these high purposes do we unite in worship.

Children of all ages are welcome to participate in the entire service.
