Funny but true, you just might be a Unitarian Universalist if…
- You think the Holy Trinity is “reduce, reuse and recycle.”
- You’re pretty sure a Holy Day of Obligation is your turn to bring coffee and baked goods.
All jokes aside, social responsibility is a vital and integral element of Unitarian Universalism. We work through service projects, education, witness, advocacy, and community action to assure opportunities for members and friends to incorporate the UU principles of social responsibility into daily life.
I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve.
Albert Schweitzer
The vision and mission of the AUUF would be an impossible dream without your generosity. As an independent and self-governing congregation, financial contributions are of utmost importance to continue our work as a free religious community. You can donate online or at the Fellowship. Near the end of each year, we conduct a community-wide pledge drive to seek the support of those who are willing and able to make a financial commitment for the following year.
Giving comes in many forms, however. Have you ever found yourself asking, “I wonder if I could help out with that?” Well, the answer is always YES! There is never a shortage of opportunities to volunteer in our congregation. When it comes to supporting the goals and activities associated with our interest groups, committees, and special events, your time and effort is invaluable.
Don’t be shy! Talk to other members of the congregation about how to get involved.
